Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Skipper mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

Skipper is a mobile application that allows you to write messages to yourself that are delivered as notifications after a random delay of 4-8 days. All messages are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to Skipper's servers.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Skipper only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

  • Use the App to create, store, or schedule delivery of content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable

  • Attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or tamper with the App

  • Use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the App's functionality

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App or related systems

Content and Messages

  • You are solely responsible for the content of messages created through your device and account, including any messages created by others who have access to your unlocked device

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and preventing unauthorized access

  • Skipper's security is dependent on your device's security features (such as device locks and passcodes)

  • You retain ownership of the content you create

  • Since messages are stored locally on your device, we have no access to or control over your message content

  • You understand that deleted messages cannot be recovered by us, as we do not have access to your data

Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our privacy practices.

Intellectual Property

The App itself, including its software, features, functionality, design, and interface, is owned by Skipper and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. This does not include the personal messages you create, which remain your property. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES: The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of bugs that may affect app performance.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skipper shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of messages, or any damages arising from your use of the App.

App Functionality

  • Message delivery timing is intentionally randomized and will vary

  • App functionality depends on your device's notification settings and system capabilities

  • We are not responsible for messages that fail to deliver due to device settings, system updates, or other factors beyond our control

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Since all data is stored locally, uninstalling the App will permanently delete all your messages. We may terminate or suspend access to the App immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms.

Updates and Changes

We may update the App from time to time to improve functionality or address technical issues. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective when posted, and we will update the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Washington State, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
